Richard and Sarah have lived at Firs Farm for over 20years. Firs Farm is home to 100 ewes, free range hens, Belgium bantams with feathered feet, 2 cocker spaniels and a horse called Hector.
We share our peaceful location with an abundance of wildflowers and wildlife, including Curlews, Lapwing, Red Kites, Barn Owls, swifts, swallows, Pheasants and partridge to name but a few. A short drive takes you to the moor where you can spot a grouse.
Lambing begins in March and guests are more than welcome to roll up their sleeves and get involved and delve into Richard and Sarah’s knowledge of shepherding.
Sarah also make soft furnishings in her spare time and has designed and made all the furnishing in the rooms.
We get great pleasure from sharing our local knowledge to help our guests to get the most from their stay with us, whether it be walking, driving through the dales, visiting local market towns, castles, abbeys, gardens and the large variety of attractions we are fortunate to have in the area.
